Moisture-absorbent – effectively transports water and sweat away from the body
Textiles made from bamboo viscose are, like the bamboo plant, efficient at absorbing water. The plant can absorb up to 300% of its own weight. This property means that bamboo textiles are much better at transporting moisture and sweat away from the body than, for example, cotton.
Antibacterial – a natural property of the bamboo plant
The fabric is resistant to bacteria and sweat odor, which means that it can be washed at lower temperatures (approx. 30 degrees C) – and it is also not necessary to wash as often. The strength of the bamboo fibers decreases when they get wet – and therefore we always recommend air drying rather than using the dryer. This means – together with fewer washes at low temperatures – minimal energy consumption and thus also less impact on the environment.
Biodegradable
Bamboo fibers are also referred to as regenerated cellulose fibers. They are 100% biodegradable in nature, just like the bamboo plant itself.

There are well over a thousand different species, divided into approximately eighty genera. It is typically the Moso giant bamboo – which primarily grows in northern China or elsewhere in Asia – that is used in textile production. And this bamboo species is not included in the approximately 25 species that the Panda Bear has on its menu – and thus has no influence on the well-being of the popular bear.



The bamboo viscose used in our textiles is produced by extracting bamboo pulp from the core of the plant. The raw pulp is then converted into bamboo cellulose in the traditional way, as has been done since the method was invented back in the early 1900s. The regenerated cellulose fibers are finally spun in the process into a thread that can be woven into, for example, duvet springs or bed linen.
Our factories use high-tech, modern machinery in production, and all products are OEKO-TEX certified and meet the requirements of Class 1, the strictest of the 4 classes.
